Doug Chambers with Life of BeesDoug Chambers with Life of BeesDoug Chambers was born in London in 1935 and studied at the Royal College of Art.  Following a teaching career in Jamaica, he moved to Western Australia in 1970, where he taught first at WAIT (now Curtin University) then in Darwin and Albany, before moving to Balingup in 1997. Chambers has exhibited nationally and internationally, and his work is represented in collections throughout Australia.  His long and distinguished career includes a retrospective survey at the Art Gallery of Western Australia in 1991–92.

This exhibition features works from the artist’s collection reflecting his preoccupation with wartime memories, the human form and recurring motifs that symbolise cycles of life and death.
