Rose van Son’s prize-winning poetry has been widely published both in Australia and overseas, she loves to read her work in front of an audience.

Rose writes of nature, history, travel and family. She is passionate about birds, the wetlands and the forest.

Her collections, Nature’s Warehouse, Birds in Focus (90 pages of colour photos with poetry), and Cloak of Letters (poetry only) were launched earlier this year.

In 2015, she was a guest poet at the Perth Poetry Festival and was also guest poet at the New Norcia Poetry Festival in 2018. She is haiku editor for Creatrix Haiku online.

Rose loves language, to say so much in such little space, to fix the moment, to make each moment memorable...

Her poems, writes poet Jean Kent, ‘celebrate a vast landscape of experience: a world that is both beautifully witnessed and intensely live-in.’
